TOURNAMENT RULES

2011 Idaho State Bowfishing Association State Championship Tournament Rules
1 Entry Fees, The entry fee will be $80.00 per team if paid prior to June 30, 2010. Entries paid after that date will be $120.00 per team. Teams having at least one Idaho Bowfishing Association member will receive a $10.00 discount from the entry fee. The entry fee includes two meal tickets.
2 The Team, A “team” can consist of one or two shooters only. No additional passengers are allowed in the boat at any time during tournament hours.
3 Boats, Each team must have a boat. Boats will be subject to inspection prior to launch. No wading, except to retrieve equipment in which case your bow is to remain in the boat.
4 Equipment, Only Standard bowfishing equipment may be used in the tournament. No nets, or any other standard fishing gear allowed in boats during tournament hours. Landing Gaffs are a permissible item aboard boats.
5 License, A valid fishing license is required to bowfish in the state of Idaho. License is required to participate in this event.
6 Registration, Pre-registration for this event is not required, however will be appreciated. There will be a check-in meeting on July 23 at 7:30 pm at the event tent for those who are on site at that time. Attendance is not mandatory but is advised. Late registrations will be accepted at this time. If you register late, t-shirts may not be available.
7 Reservoir closure, That portion of the reservoir/river between Strike Dam and the Hwy 51 bridge will be closed to participants from July 17 up to tournament time. Violation of this closure will result in disqualification.
8 Shotgun Start, All boats will be released at 7:00 a.m. MST on both days.
9 Sportsmanship, Basic unwritten rules of good sportsmanship will be expected during the tournament. Common sense, and respect to other teams is a must in order to insure a good time be had by all. Giving way in narrow channels and staying at respectable distance from other boats can’t always be monitored, so good judgment, common sense, and being respectful to other teams reflects solely on each of us as sportsmen.
10 Weigh-In, The official cut-off time is 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. All boats must be within the No-Wake zone in front of the ramp prior to these times. Failure to make it in prior to cut-off will result in disqualification regardless of the reason. There will be no reasonable excuse, or exceptions made. Each boat must be trailered and in single file through the scale site. Teams will be weighed in one at a time until all teams have been weighed. There will be no limit. All fish harvested will be weighed, excluding succor, squaw fish, etc. Harvest to include carp only. The harvest of any game fish is illegal in Idaho and will result in disqualification.
11 Pay out, 100% of all Entry fee money remaining after operating expenses along with proceeds of the raffle, additional t-shirt sales, additional meal sales, and donated added money will be paid out to the top 30% of teams entered. 100% of each days “Big-Fish” pool will be paid to the entry taking the heaviest fish of that day up to $500.00. All funds generated from big fish entries above $500.00 will be added to the general pay-out.
